THE SANS SOUCIS COMPANY
Cosmétique
Sans Soucis was founded in 1939 by Walter Friedmann in Berlin-Postdam.
The native Baden-Badener opened his first salon directly beside Schloss Sans
Soucis and produced his first cosmetic products under the brand name Sans Soucis.
After the war, the committed cosmetician returned to Baden-Baden with his company.
He invested his creative energy in the constant search for even more effective-substances
and care systems. His work and his path-breaking developments gained international
recognition.
Following
Friedmann’s sudden death in 1970, his wife Maria Augustin took over
the management of the family-owned business and has now been at the top
for almost 30 years. Under her leadership, the company has developed into
an internationally renowned concern that distributes its products worldwide
with continuously increasing sales. Today Sans Soucis is one of the most
significant companies in the cosmetic industry.
THE SOURCES OF SUCCESS
The reasons for Sans Soucis success can be found not only in the fact that the
company uses natural substances but also in the fact that it has successfully
developed innovative active substances and high-quality products.
Sans
Soucis was the first cosmetics producer to introduce collagen.
In
1980, Sans Soucis pioneered the active substance Repair Complex, and
was the first in the world to use it.
In
1986, the two-phase-product Deep Moist Depot was put on the market. A Europe-wide
patent followed soon thereafter.
In
1995, Sans Soucis introduced the pure botanical active substance “Biocell”,
which combat wrinkles, into the Repair Energy Line.
In
1997, Sans Soucis was the first cosmetic producer to use the unique thermal
spring water from Baden-Baden.
Sans Soucis continues to specialize in pioneering, first-class, high-quality
cosmetic products. A talented, efficient Research & Development Department
and close cooperation with international scientists and research centers guarantee
innovative product ideas. At the same time, the flexibility and the independence
of a strong family business facilitate the successful introduction of the new
products to the market.
All Sans Soucis products are produced exclusively in Baden-Baden. This guarantees
consumers the same high level of quality and compatibility all over the world.
EXTENSIVE QUALITY TESTING
Sans
Soucis products are supported by extensive quality testing, so you can
count on these products for safety, effectiveness, and skin compatibility.
Creating products of the highest quality has always been Sans Soucis’ top
priority. All Sans Soucis products are produced in accordance with the
requirements of the Cosmetics-GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice).
The development phase of a cosmetic product, from the time of the original idea
up until its introduction to the market, can take up to two years. This phase
involves a great deal of preliminary work and extensive testing.
Raw Materials Testing. The quality assurance process starts right at the beginning
with the raw materials. Sans Soucis not only tests the end product during and
after the production process, but also tests all incoming materials.
Shelf Life Testing. By European law, all cosmetic products must have a shelf
life of at least 30 months. If this is not the case, the products must be marked
with a best-before date.
Climatic Test. All Sans Soucis products undergo a climatic test during the development
phase.
Effectiveness and Skin Compatibility Testing. Sans Soucis strives to create highly
effective products with the greatest possible degree of skin compatibility. In
order to achieve this, each and every product is tested for effectiveness and
skin compatibility by independent test institutes. The promised effect will only
be mentioned on the packaging after it has been verified. In order to establish
proof of skin compatibility, Sans Soucis works hand in hand with independent,
experienced dermatologists.
Consumer Testing. In addition to the scientific testing that is carried out by
independent test institutes, each product has to undergo carefully executed consumer
tests. Here, in addition to skin compatibility, test subjects evaluate the scent,
the texture and also the product’s general utilization characteristics.
The product will only be released for production when all the test data matches
the specified quality standards. The ideas and requests gathered during consumer
testing are also taken into consideration when developing further products.
Routine Testing. In order to continuously test the quality and composition of
products that have already been produced, a replacement sample is taken for every
batch. This sample is checked at regular intervals and compared with the master
sample.
All the above-mentioned tests, together with the fact that all Sans Soucis products
are produced in one facility in Baden-Baden, guarantee that all Sans Soucis products
have the same high level of quality.
Sans Soucis does not engage in animal testing.
FREE OF PRESERVATIVES EXCEPT THOSE NECESSARY FOR PRODUCT
SAFETY
Sans
Soucis products are produced in accordance with the strict requirements of
the Cosmetics-GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice). Cosmetics produced in accordance
with this process leave the factory with virtually no germs such as bacteria,
yeasts, and molds. When products are used on a daily basis, however, germs
can enter products through fingers or spatulas, or when the cream comes in
contact with oxygen. Once products become contaminated, they provide ideal
living conditions for various types of microorganisms, which can multiply in
a very short period of time. Some of these germs can create poisonous substances
that endanger health. For this reason, it is vital to add some preservatives
to cosmetics.
Sans Soucis, then decide what preservatives need to be added to the products,
they adhere to the following principle: as much as is necessary, and as little
as is possible. The preservative concentration in our products is normally 0.05-0.3%.
Only preservatives that are allowed by law and that have been tested for compatibility
and safety are used. Each preservative formulation is tested specifically for
each product in order to achieve the required shelf life with the lowest possible
preservative concentration. In addition, each product is subjected to a thorough
skin compatibility test. In spite of all the precautions taken, however, the
possibility of skin incompatibilities occurring among certain groups of people
(e.g. people suffering from an allergy) cannot be completely ruled out.
In order to offer people more information and therefore more security, all the
ingredients of Sans Soucis products are, in accordance with legal regulations,
listed in full on the packaging or, in accordance with the INCI regulations,
directly on the product (full declaration).
